We recently hired our first director, Liz Field. Jennifer Dotson remains the Executive Director of the Center for Community Transportation, of which Ithaca Carshare is a part.
Liz is a long-time Ithacan who’s held positions at other nonprofits, including the Multicultural Resource Center, Hospicare, the Center for Transformative Action, and Ithaca Festival. She also worked for several years at Cornell University, most recently in Cornell Information Technologies as a communications specialist.

“I’m thrilled to be part of Ithaca Carshare, and to work on ensuring that Ithacans have safe and reliable access to our carsharing network,” Liz says. “I’m also excited that we’ve won a grant through NYSERDA to purchase more electric vehicles that will serve our most marginalized communities while reducing our carbon footprint.”
While raising her three kids, Liz was very involved in local advocacy work, including sitting on equity hiring committees for the ICSD, covering anti-war and environmental activism for local and national media, and volunteering with many nonprofits, schools, and community groups. She’s currently an empty-nester who enjoys nature photography, hiking the region’s gorges and forests, and supporting local farms and businesses.
