Easy Access
Need help paying for an Ithaca Carshare membership? If you meet our income guidelines, you can apply for the Easy Access membership plan.
Easy Access is a reduced-cost version of the It’s My Car monthly plan available to Tompkins County residents with income at or below 150% of the US Federal Poverty Guideline.
Membership costs $10/month, paired with the regular hourly and mileage rates for It’s My Car. Easy Access members get a monthly $20 driving credit that can be used for those hourly and mileage rates. Unused monthly credits roll over for up to one year.
If you expect to use Ithaca Carshare very infrequently, you may want to consider the Just in Case plan. If you or a household member are eligible for a different membership discount from your school or employer, you’re not eligible for the Easy Access plan. The Easy Access plan has limited availability, and we may not be able to accept all requests at all times.

Additional Details
Full Day Rate
Most vehicles can be booked for full days at a reduced rate. Cars in our highest demand locations do not get the full day rate. The full day rate caps hourly charges at 10 hours in any 24 hour period. For trips over 24 hours, additional hourly or daily rates will be added as needed. For example, a 26 hour trip is one day plus 2 hours.
To start your application for Easy Access, please submit evidence of your income eligibility by emailing info@ithacacarshare.org or mailing it to P.O. Box 418 Ithaca NY 14851. We’ll confirm receipt, and then give you details about completing your application online.

- Benefits card or statement for Medicaid or SNAP benefits
- Your last two pay stubs
