Ithaca Carshare is looking for site hosts willing to provide a parking spot.
Are you a downtown or Collegetown business owner or property manager with a parking lot that’s accessible to the public? Are you also looking at installing chargers for Electric Vehicles (EVs)?
If so, we’d love to discuss a potential partnership. We’re expanding our fleet and planning to purchase 9 new EVs in the coming two years, and we need EV charging spots for them!
Site hosts cover installation of the EV chargers (there are grants available and we can help you find them), a dedicated parking spot for Ithaca Carshare, and the electricity to provide the charge.
What’s in it for you?
As a site host for an Ithaca Carshare car, you’ll show the community that you support reducing traffic and providing sustainable transportation, and be able to provide your tenants, employees, and the greater Ithaca community with 24/7 access to an Ithaca Carshare EV.
We’re also happy to promote your business or organization in our email newsletter and other promotional materials, identifying you as a supporter of Ithaca Carshare and alternate means of transportation in Ithaca.
We currently have two EVs in our fleet, which we charge alternately at the 201 Hancock Street Apartments. Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services (INHS) graciously installed the EV charger exclusively for our use and provides the electricity to do so.
We also have three Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) that currently run on gas as we don’t have a way to charge them regularly.
As we work toward electrifying our fleet, ensuring that we have the charging infrastructure and capacity to charge the vehicles is a top priority.
