Welcome to Ithaca Carshare! This orientation is for accepted members, although anyone is free to view the orientation at any time.
The Basics – We have two basics that members should always keep in mind. These will help keep the carsharing system running smoothly.
1) Communication is key! We are available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you experience vehicle issues, are running late, cannot find the vehicle you have reserved, or have any other questions please call us at 607.277.3210. It is always best to ask us when you are unsure what to do. Communication with us will also lessen your chance for getting fines. We're here to help you!
2) Be considerate of the next driver. When you have a reservation, you expect the vehicle to be there on time and be clean. Therefore it is your responsibility to make sure that you return vehicles on time and clean also! Plan your time accordingly so that you never need to rush back to the parking spot. Simple considerations such as remembering to turn off the radio and put the windows up when you are done helps keep the system running smoothly also.
With both of these, the point is that we are here to work with you. We want the members to benefit from this service and continue using it, because that benefits all of us. So please plan ahead, be courteous, and call us if any problems arise. We will do our best to work with you to solve them!
