VEHICLES 24/7 FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND COLLEGE CAMPUSES
Are you eligible?
If you're 21 or over:
If you're under 21:
- Have you been driving at least 2 consecutive years? If no, please apply when you have met this requirement. Please note that we consider the "issued on" date on your license or record, so a learner's permit will not count towards this. We'll be here!
- Do you have a spotless driving record? If no, please wait until you're 21 to apply.
- Are you able to provide proof of insurance? This is generally easy to obtain from your current insurer. If not, please wait until you're 21 to apply.
- Are you be able to provide a signed consent form from the policy holder of your insurance? If you're 18-20, you'll still need to be covered by insurance (your parent's policy probably covers you already). We will need a copy of the insurance declaration. If you're covered under someone else's (like a parent's) insurance, that person will also need to sign our Younger Driver Additional Insurance Consent form acknowledging your participation and coverage. If this is not possible, please wait until you're 21 to apply.
- Do you have a license from your permanent state of residence? If no, please see below:
Permanent state of residence:
You
must have a license in your permanent state of residence. If you have
just moved to New York on a permanent basis, you should acquire a NY
license within 60 days of joining.
Foreign licenses:
We'll
need to see your home country driver's license and a copy of your home country's driving record (in
English). For information on getting foreign driver's records, click here.
- Have you had your current license at least 2 consecutive years? If no, please provide previous license number(s) so we can search your driving records. This is usually obtained from your license issuer (generally the Department of Motor Vehicles in that state).
